About David Whatmore, PA-C
David Whatmore, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in neurosurgery at The Sports Center – CommonSpirit. David is committed to demystifying the complexity of spinal conditions for his patients. He recognizes that modern medicine can often feel rushed, leaving patients overwhelmed and excluded from their own care plans. David’s priority is to ensure that every patient leaves their appointment with a clear understanding of their symptoms and the diagnostic steps necessary to identify the root cause. By taking the time to review and explain imaging such as MRIs, he empowers patients to become active participants in their treatment. He believes that healing is not a passive process; rather, success relies on a strong provider-patient team where everyone is fully aligned on the nature of the condition and the most effective path forward.
David earned a Master of Medical Science (MMS) from St. Francis University in Pennsylvania and completed his Physician Assistant studies at Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood, Colorado. His diverse professional foundation also includes certification as an NREMT-Paramedic and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Huddersfield in the United Kingdom.
Outside of his clinical practice, David enjoys woodworking and home renovations, watching movies, and scuba diving.
